what pawl stores
pawl stores only what it needs to run your timer and remember your choices. this may include your current timer state, optional timer name, pomodoro progress, durations, selected paw, appearance, time display, pull sensitivity, and onboarding state.
this information lives in pawl’s sandboxed preferences on your mac. pawl has no server copy.
notifications
when you start or resume a timer, pawl may ask macos for permission to show local alerts and play a sound. if you name a timer, that name may appear in its completion notification. pawl uses no remote push-notification service.
you can change notification permission at any time in macos system settings.
launch at login
if you turn on launch at login, pawl asks macos to open the app when you sign in. apple’s system service manages this setting. pawl does not create an online account.
network and sharing
the current version of pawl has no outbound network access. it does not send app data to pawl, advertisers, analytics providers, crash-reporting services, or other third parties.
if you purchase pawl through apple or another storefront, that storefront processes the transaction under its own privacy policy. pawl does not receive your full payment details.
website and support
pawl’s website does not use advertising cookies or analytics. if you join the waitlist, we collect only the email address you submit. we send it to a private discord channel so we can contact you with pawl launch news and future updates. discord processes that email under its privacy policy.
when you email hey@pawl.cat, your email address, message, and any attachments travel through your email provider and ours. we use them only to answer your request and troubleshoot pawl.
support messages are kept only as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain support records, and meet legal obligations. pawl does not sell them or use them for advertising.
retention and deletion
pawl replaces the current timer snapshot as you use the app. ending a pomodoro plan removes that active plan; preferences remain until you change or clear them.
to remove all local pawl data, clear pawl’s preferences and app container from your mac. email hey@pawl.cat for step-by-step help. because pawl keeps no server copy, there is no remote app-data account to export or delete.
we keep your waitlist email until you ask us to delete it. to request deletion, email hey@pawl.cat from the same address.
you may also ask us to delete a support email by writing from the same address. we will honor the request unless we must keep a record for legal or security reasons.
children
pawl’s waitlist is not intended for children. if you believe a child submitted an email address, contact us and we will delete it. the app’s focus data stays locally on the mac.
changes and contact
if pawl’s privacy practices change, this page will change before the new practice takes effect. the updated date above shows the latest revision.
